The Sweet Stop Sketch SSS29

Happy SWEET STOP SKETCH DAY!!!!!!!

Here's my take on this Saturday's SWEET STOP Sketch SSS29, below!  I used a digi set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for this one.  When I saw the sketch, I thought of this set because of the verse at bottom.  I thought it would be a great way to highlight the verse with the image, too.  It was a pretty easy card to put together!  And, if you know me, Miss Takes-me-3-hours-to-finish-a-card.... you would know that putting something together quickly is quite a feat!!  I think the Sweet Stop's sketches are the best around!

I used some retired SUP paper and nestibilities for the top left square and circle at bottom.  Ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and rhinestones are by KaiserScrapbook.  Head on over to the SWEET STOP HERE to see the rest of the designer's take on the sketch!  AND please consider playing along!  If you do, you are then put in the running to be next month's guest designer!  BUT you have to play to be considered!!  Go to the Sweet Stop's BLOG to get the details on that!

Have a great weekend!

Have an AXELent Day!!

Here's a soft, wintery card for you!  A rather simple card opposed to my normal style of layer upon layer of patterned papers, but I still think it came out quite nice!  Gotta love those Whimsie Doodles Images!  You can see this image and sentiment HERE at the Whimsie Doodles website!  Also be sure to check out the gallery for some added inspiration and sketch ideas!

Don't forget to play along with this week's challenge at PaperCraftPlanet!  Click HERE to see what is going on there!

I hope you have an AXELent Day!

In return for helping them get the word out about the November '09 issue, you will be entered to win the following...
Your Choice of Two (2) of the Clear Stamp Sets Shown Below!!!

Head on over to the SheetLoad Blog today for more details!!

SNSS Digi release and an SNR CHALLENGE DAY!

Get Ready, GIRLS!  Today is going to be ONE exciting day!!!!!!!  First Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is releasing two new digi sets!  First is a set of two reindeer (I am just showcasing one of the two reindeer here) and then there is a coordinating SENTIMENT set to go along with the REINDEER set!  I just love these reindeer!  They are so very cute and fun to color!  OH, and just wait until you see the other deer that has ornaments hanging from its antlers! SUPER SWEET!

Second, it is a Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps DIGI DAY over at SNR!  {For those of you who don't know, SNR stands for Scrapbook News and Review magazine!  Don't feel bad IF you didn't know, I just found out about them myself!}  SNSS is going to be challenging you, too!  And within a challenge, of course, will be some PRIZES!  So be sure to CLICK HERE to see what is going on over at SNR today!  The first Thursday of every month is going to be a SNR-DIGI DAY for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, so you may just want to pencil that in on your calendar so you don't miss any of them!

And, finally THIRD... It is FREEBIE DIGI DAY!!!!!  Every Thursday Korin lavishes us with a freebie digi!  These are great for those newbie-digi crafters out there that just aren't too sure about going digitial!  Give it a whirl, it is FREE and if you are like me and love to color, you will be hooked right away! HAHA!  So CLICK HERE to see what digi is up for grabs today!

About my card above!  I used some retired SUP paper and my trusty ol' Cricut Expression to cut out a holly-border at left.  LOVE that provocraft cricut, I don't know why I don't use it more! But, I had to use it because (shh!!!!!) part of the challenge today at SNR is to use HOLLY in your card!  So I thought it would be fun to add a border or something special using the holly!  Back to the card... of course nestibilities for the circles and Copics for coloring.  The ribbon is by SUP also.  The card measures 5 1/2 square and will cost more to send in the mail, but you know what?  That will just make the recipient feel even more special, don't you think? HAHAHA!

Well, I hope you CLICK HERE on over to the SNR Challenge group and join SNSS for tons of fun, a few prizes and I bet a lot of chatting!

Blessings on your day!

Whimsie Doodles PaperCraftPlanet Challenge #5

Whimsie Doodles at PaperCraftPlanet just posted their newest challenge today!  I guess my submission to it could have also been for last week's challenge using PUMPKIN in some way!  HAHA!  BUT, this week's challenge is to use two different Whimsie Doodles digi images from two different sets... together!  I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!  This is what is so great about Whimsie Doodles digi sets, they seriously ARE so versatile and can intermingle with each other so easily!

I used this slice of pie (which I hope it looks like a pumpkin seed on top of a slice of pumpking pie and not a pastry slit like you would put in a cherry pie!) from the GET STUFFED digi set (just $2.50 for the set of two images and an additional sentiment) and used this sentiment from the SWEET SENTIMENTS set.  I must mention that this is just one sentiment that is from a set of four which is at an unbelievable price of .99!  You get this sentiment and THREE MORE sentiments that have the word SWEET in them.  I think that is a steal, don't you?  I mean, you can re-use these, re-size these and there's NO LIMITATION on how you use them!  And for .99cents!!!

Head on over to the Whimsie Doodles BLOG HERE to see more creations by Melyssa, the owner and designer of Whimsie Doodles, and also other items designed by the Doodlelicious Design Team, too!  The Doodlelicious Designers personal blogs are all listed in my side bar at left if you would like to check them out, too!

Make it a SUPER DAY!

Where's Whimsie???

WHERE has WHIMSIE BEEN????  Well, he hasn't been too far from home, here in Jasper, Indiana!  I thought I would show you Whimsie taking a lawnmower ride with my Honey, getting a mustang trip through the yard with Isaac, watching TV with the Eli and KayLee and posing with little ol' me, just before making some more cards!!  HAHA!

Whimsie Doodles would LOVE to see Whimsie in YOUR hometown, too!  Download WHIMSIE HERE, print him out and take a pic with him!!  Post your pictures on this THREAD HERE on PaperCraftPlanet, AND also on our FLICKER Group HERE!  We are calling this the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Whimsie"!

The Doodlelicious design team of Whimsie Doodles are from all around the world, so we thought it would be fun to see Whimsie every place possible!!  I hope you join the Sisterhood and take Whimsie someplace soon!  OH, and NO, YOU personally do NOT have to be in the picture! LOL!  So, if you are a little camera-shy, don't despair, just take a picture of him some place you think is special!

Hope you join in on the FUN!

Guest Designing AGAIN!

Howdy, Peeps!  How was your Halloween??  Ours was exciting and full of transformers and wonder-woman antics!  It was fun, but well, I tell ya, I am GLAD it is November!  For more reasons than one!  First because that means pumpkin pie is just around the corner, seeing family, too, but also because it means that I am the NOVEMBER GUEST DESIGNER for the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps new DIGI BLOG!!  I will be posting some cards on their blog and also here on my blog on MONDAYs throughout November, so you can see some of their newly released digi's each Monday.

Sweet 'n Sassy's DIGI BLOG is brand spankin' new, so they asked me to Guest Design for them until they get the kinks worked out and also get their full Design Team together over the next month or so.  I was more than happy to oblige!  Working with Sandy and Korin is fun and I get to work with a fabulous bunch of women, too.  Oh, and if you are confused, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is also who is behind The SWEET STOP sketch blog that I design for, too!  Guess you could say, that is HOW they nabbed me for the DIGI Guest Designer gig! LOL!  I am more than happy to do it, keeps me craftin' ya know??

About my card... isn't this little Cocoa Mouse just the cutest??  There are also Three Sentiments HERE that coordinate with this image, too, so be sure to check those out in the store, too!  The paper is some retired paper by SUP and the ribbon is by Hobby Lobby.  Coloring is by Copic markers and the circle scallop punch is double layered with red in back.  Punch is by SUP as well.

Be sure to check back EVERYDAY!  But remember that Mondays will be showcasing a Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps DIGI image for sure!

Edited to add: CLICK HERE to see Sweet 'n Sassy's PaperCraftPlanet group!  You can play along with this weeks challenge of using snowflakes in your card or other paper-creation!  Hope to see you there!

Have a great week!!

It's a Whimsie Doodles Debut Day!

Here's the card that I showed a SneakPeek of just the other day!  It did look kind of 'grinchy' didn't it?

Well, it isn't at all!  It is a quite nice Christmas tree card!  It was embellished with KaiserScrapbook pearls and colored with my trusty ol' Copic markers. The paper is by SUP and the oval and scallop oval are nestibilities and I used the SUP scallop border punch to detail the right side of the card. I backed the inside of the card with a 1/2" strip of red paper to show off the scallop border a bit more. See below:

I also doubled-up the star and decorated it with some glittery stickles, like a real Christmas Muffin Tree should have! LOL! Thanks for taking the time to stop in and see FULL VIEW of the sneaky-peek!  Make sure you scroll down and see the previous post of another digi that WHIMSIE DOODLES came out with today, too!  Olive and Toasty are just toooooooo cute!

Blessings on your day!

DEBUT DAY at WhimsieDoodles!

Here is just one of my two cards that I made for WhimsieDoodle's new digi sets that have been released today!  The next card is coming up in a couple seconds!  OR just scroll back up to see it!  I have been really enjoying making these elongated (business-size) cards.  Again perfect for popping in some cash for a Christmas present!  The paper is by SUP and so is the winter white ribbon.  Copics for coloring and the 'joy' stamp is by SUP as well!

Make sure you check out the full release at the Whimsie Doodles BLOG!

newly released digi!!

Let's Get STUFFED!

I KNOW, I KNOW, it is Halloween, and I am showing you a TURKEY!

Can't help it!  I just had to use this adorable new turkey by Whimsie Doodles when I saw the latest sketch for The Sweet Stop challenge this week!  I thought that this paper by SUP and this turkey would look so cute together!  See the detail of the turkey below:

I am not really sure what colors a turkey really is; I guess I could have googled, to be accurate, but I liked these colors, they coordinated with my papers, and that is WAY more important than being accurate, right?  LOL!  This image (along with cute sentiment) will be released tomorrow at WHIMSIE DOODLES

Be sure to take some time to play along with this week's SWEET STOP SKETCH SSS28!  This is a fun business sized card (mine is 3 3/4 x 9) and could easily be changed to a Christmas theme!  This size card is perfect for stuffing moolah in for the holidays to those grandkids!  Make it easy on yourself and send them money and make THEM go out and fight the holiday shoppers!  HAHA!

OH, and Happy Halloween!

That 'title' was like the "BEFORE & AFTER" on Wheel of Fortune! LOL!  Today is Wednesday, which means a new challenge over at the Whimsie Doodles Paper Craft Planet Group!  This week's challenge is PUMPKINS!  So, I used one of these adorable, yet earlier, images of Melyssa's called Cat & Friends available HERE.  Also I used a Halloween Button Sentiment that you can find HERE!

I am still reverting back to this same My Mind's Eye paper set that I just can't seem to get enough of!  Someone stop me PLEASE!!!!!! LOL!  I used the SC251 from SplitCoastStampers for this card, too, although it wasn't for a square card, I tweeked it a bit.  Hope you take some time out to stamp and join me again tomorrow!

I have a sneak peek of a new stamp that is being released on November 1st!  Can anyone say 'HOLIDAY-ISH'?  Or is that even a word?  HA!  Well, check back, it is a cute card, at least I HOPE you think it is!

Sisterhood of the TRAVELING WHIMSIE

Whimsie, our traveling turtle,
wants to see the world with YOU!

Beginning yesterday and lasting through November 25th, we would love for you to visit the Whimsie Doodles website, and download your picture of Whimsie, all decked out in her tourist gear. This is just something fun that we DT members have dubbed “Sisterhood of the Traveling Whimsie”, and what we’re doing is taking pictures of Whimsie with us, doing all kinds of things around the globe! Our DT is spread out over three different countries (and there are only 8 of us!), so we thought it would be fun to see just where our little Whimsie could go, and what kind of things she could do in a month.

You can upload your pictures to our special album on Flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/whereswhimsie, or on our Whimsie Doodles page at Paper Craft Planet. (Or both if you are feeling ambitious).

Check back in a couple of days to see where Whimsie has gone with me so far!

Enjoy Your Day!

The Sweet Stop SSS27 Sketch Challenge begins NOW!

Here's my take on the latest Sweet Stop Sketch challenge shown below.  I love these papers, they look so happy with all of the flowers, dots and stripes, perfect for a birthday card!  The cupcake image and button sentiment are by WHIMSIE DOODLES, from a set called Yummy Doodles.  I used copics for coloring of course and dotted the sprinkles with some stickles, but you can't really get the full effect in the picture, unfortunately!

I hope you play along with this fun sketch at THE SWEET STOP!  Make sure you Mr. Linky up your creation to the blog post there so we call all see your take on the sketch!  When you upload to any galleries, be sure to put SSS27 in the keyword box!!

Have a great Tuesday!

Whimsie Doodles WWC2 Challenge!

Good Afternoon!  Here's another Halloween inspired card I made earlier yesterday for Whimsie Doodles' Paper Craft Planet group Challenge #2!  We had to color in our images without our trusty COPICS that we all seem to use in coloring in our designs and backgrounds.

Well, I used this cute little bat image that you can find HERE on the WhimsieDoodles website, and colored it in using my Stampin' Up markers.  These are water-based markers, not alcohol based like Copics, so they don't color in as well as I personal like, but they did okay!  The background was made by using my Stampin' Up! pastels (or chalks) in a variety of blues and greens.  The papers are from Basic Grey's Periphery line and a row of dark silver brads finishes it at bottom.

Why don't you head on over to the Whimsie Doodles PAPER CRAFT PLANET group and join!  You can chat with other Whimsie Doodles fans and share ideas and techniques and your creations, too!

Enjoy the rest of your day and I will see you soon!

SSS26 The Sweet Stop Sketch with a SPIN!

Does this 'wittle' guy look familiar to you??  HAHA!  That's right, it is Mr. BooBerry in the flesh, er, uh, in spirit! HAHA!

This week's SSS26 Sweet Stop Sketch is to create a card with some type of recycling involved!  Well, being that it is Halloween and all, I just couldn't resist re-using BooBerry off the back of the cereal box.  Now, granted, I had to finish off the cereal INSIDE the box FIRST to be able to use the box, but that was just a sacrifice I had to make to get this card done on time, lol!  The witch, haunted house and other stamp images are by SUP from a set I just can't put my finger on right now.  I think it is retired anyways, so you can't purchase it even if you wanted to.  Well, then again, if you checked out ebay it could be there. Anyhoo...

You can see the Sweet Stop Sketch HERE that we were to follow, or at least in my case, be 'inspired by'.  I really enjoyed this challenge, it was really, well, CHALLENGING!  I hope you play along with this week's challenge and don't forget to recycle something!  Could be a used piece of lace, some buttons, ribbons, or last week I suggested bronzer (you know, the make up kind) to give your card a shimmer! HAHA!

Have a great Saturday!

Friday, October 16
